Each year my friend Stu hosts an gathering of friends at his place on the east coast affectionately called FeSTUval. It is a wonderful excuse for some drinking and golfing. Stu puts in a tremendous amount of effort in hosting these events which also includes a website and creating promotional items (T-shirts, mugs and other miscellanea as strikes his fancy) built on that year's theme.
In 2008 Stu declared the theme to be MASH. For a laugh I decided to rewrite the lyrics to the MASH theme song and give it a unique FeSTUval feel. The song was called STUicide Is Painless. Little did I know that Stu engaged Aaron Vail to sing and record the song.
In 2009 the theme is Cheers and once again I wrote a FeSTUval version that Stu produced into a real song.
In 2010 there was a Scotland theme and the theme song was based on a song by Queen from the movie Highlander. The original song was Who Wants To Live Forever.
Also in 2010 I wrote an original song for my wife Shandy. I engaged Aaron Vail, who had done the FeSTUVal songs, to compose the music and provide the vocals. The result is a song called Never Doubt That I Love You.
